Swing Trading vs Day Trading Has the Debate Ended - omni forex trading system review

Swing Trading vs Day Trading Has the Debate Ended ~ omni forex trading system review

Within the context of the ongoing debate between Swing Trading and Day Trading, these early results from my Methodology appear to tip scale decisively towards Swing Trading. Only 7 trades have been done so far and to date, the results have already beaten the Year-to-Date returns of 80% of the Top Traders Ranked by BarclayHedge. With only 9 trades left for this strategy to generate a 100% return for my clients (sadly, cost of Manual will go up accordingly- see Table), Day Trading may soon by a thing of the past as you spend less time trading and more time earning.

Currency Trading can be a very lucrative means of earning income on a short and long-term basis. The most popular way of doing this by traders has been to profit from the intra-day changes in a currency’s value, during the most liquid trading sessions of the day. However, given the difficulty of consistently modelling the random price behaviour of a financial asset class at this micro level, sustainable success from this approach can be an elusive goal. Instead, if traders focused on the clearer trends provided by the Larger Time Frames, they can achieve of more consistent rate of success.

Swing Trading takes advantage of the clearer and more reliable breakout signals and trends of the Daily and 4 Hour Charts. It is a style of trading that is similar to Long-Term Trend trading in which positions are taken based on the longer-term fundamental value of a currency. However, given the time horizon of Swing Trades - 2 to 7 days- some of these trades will either be in line with that value or diverge from it in the short-term.

Among the benefits of Swing Trading are;

  • Stronger Trends with Larger Pips per Trade;
  • Accuracy of Signals, with fewer False Breakouts;
  • Predictable Times for Analysis and Trade Execution;
  • Fewer Trades needed for Large Rates of Return;
  • Compatibility with a non-Forex 9-5 Schedule;

This style of trading also allows traders to sidestep the volatility surrounding the release of macroeconomic data each week. Several important reports related to the major currencies can provide an indication about market direction during the day. Nevertheless, due to the subjective and conflicting interpretation of these by traders, large spikes in prices tend to appear, taking out small Stop Losses and eroding the Day Trader’s profitability.

In addition to the significant personal benefits, Retail Traders will also be better able to offer their services to Prop Trading houses and Hedge Funds that want this style of trading - earning very large commissions in the process. Based on these early results...

RATE OF RETURN NOW 13 0 ON SMALL AUD CAD TRADE - forex odyssey trading system

RATE OF RETURN NOW 13 0 ON SMALL AUD CAD TRADE ~ forex odyssey trading system

This trade was intended to take advantage of a sharp breakout short from a Pennant Consolidation, with the target set for its Breakout Equivalent. All Consolidations have Breakout Equivalents (B.E.) - it is the area that they break towards before pulling back. They will either pause here to then resume the trend or become volatile and reverse. Nevertheless, once spotted and measured accurately, one should either be exiting your trades there (see the AUD USD 148 Pip Trade and the AUD NZD 70 Pip Trade) or avoiding entries at these areas altogether.

In this instance, the pair had already broken out from a previous Range and was now breaking a Pennant.

DAILY CHART - AUD CAD
(FXCM Charts used for Trade Signals- Dukascopy used for Live Trades)

Based on the way I had originally measured the B.E. for this Range, it would not be hit until a few hundred pips. However after analyzing the chart again for confirmation that my Entry Setup was correct, I realized the error and exited immediately. This provided only a small gain of 9,6 Pips, but was much better than what would have taken place if it was left any longer.

This was the entry setup on the 4 Hour Chart. It required waiting on the market to pullback so that my Stop Loss would have met the criterion in the strategy.

4 HOUR CHART - TRADE SETUP

Entry then took place as the market pulled back to trigger the entry but shortly after, I realized that this B.E. was actually at the Entry Price of my trade.

DAILY CHART

Luckily I was able to come out before the rally took place, which would have taken out the Stop Loss.

DAILY CHART- PULLBACK

Following this trade which pushed the rate of return to 13.0%, my Subscribers are still 9 trades away from a 100% return.

RATE OF RETURN FROM METHODOLOGY

The FXCM Demo Account that you will see in MyFxbook does not reflect this trade. The entry order was not triggered due to the natural differences in prices that takes place across trading platforms.

Mistakes like these are par for the course. Sometimes they lead to large losses, but sometimes you get lucky with only a small loss or gain. It can be very difficult to exit a trade that has the potential for large gains. However, this is perhaps the best trading decision that one will make when large sums of your funds or those of your clients are at stake.

108 PIPS FROM AUD CHF RATE OF RETURN NOW 32 ~ lazy trading forex system

We took advantage of recent Aussie Dollar strengthen to capture 108 Pips from the AUD CHF last week. This pair was headed to the Resistance of its large Pennant on the Daily Chart, providing a strong Bull Candle Signal to give us this short and quick trading gain. This has now pushed the Rate of Return from the Aggressive Swing Trading Strategies to 32%.

The Daily Chart provided a strong Bullish Candlestick Signal known as a Morning Star to break the Downtrend Line. This was expected to resume the rally towards the Resistance of Pennant.

        KIWI DOLLAR LIKELY TO FOLLOW SHARP AUSSIE DECLINE - new forex manual trading system

        KIWI DOLLAR LIKELY TO FOLLOW SHARP AUSSIE DECLINE ~ new forex manual trading system

        Given the strong positive correlation between the AUD USD and the NZD USD, the NZD USD could resume its bearish trend following the recent decline of the Aussie Dollar by nearly 600 Pips.

        The Aussie Dollar has been steadily declining over the last several days after breaking the Support of the very large Pennant setup.

        DAILY CHART- AUD USD

        In breaking out of this Pennant, the pair broke a smaller Pennant and a Counter Trend Line that tested the Support before starting the breakout.

        DAILY CHART-AUD USD

        Whenever large Consolidations are being broken, they normally form these smaller setups at Resistance and Support which "test" the strength of these boundaries before breaking out.

        For its part, the Kiwi Dollar has also formed a small Pennant at the Support of its large Pennant as well, but has not yet provided us with a breakout signal.

        DAILY CHART- NZD USD

        DAILY CHART- NZD USD

        Although both pairs are highly correlated, without a breakout signal, the Kiwi Dollar is now equally likely to rally back inside of the Pennant as it is to break short. If a breakout short takes place, it would be in sync with the trend on the Aussie Dollar, leading to strong gains for the US Dollar over the next several months. However, a False Breakout Reversal inside could also keep this correlation in tact if it coincides with a temporary pullback in the Aussie Dollar.

        The main reason that the Aussie Dollar trade is on the Demo Account is that the breakout started and continued with Weak Candles. These types of signals tend to be associated with slow breakouts that can provide large trading gains. However, they are also notorious for leading to False Consolidation Breakouts....

        DAILY CHART - NZD USD

        Once a strong signal is provided in either direction, Live Account trading of this pair is likely to be highly profitable. Distinguishing between these types of candles is therefore very important to avoid False Breakouts and unnecessary losses (Section 8 " Consolidation Trading on the Forex Market").

        SUBSCRIBERS NOW UP 53 WITH 200 PIP AUD NZD TRADE - netwave forex trading system

        SUBSCRIBERS NOW UP 53 WITH 200 PIP AUD NZD TRADE ~ netwave forex trading system

        This latest 200-Pip gain involved a Consolidation Breakout trade from a Range setup on the Daily Chart of this Aussie pair. The Support boundary was initial broken with a weak Bearish Candle but was soon followed by a stronger U-Turn Signal that indicated the resumption of the breakout. Having determined that the overall setups on the Daily and 4 Hour Charts were in sync with the Methodology’s criteria, the trade was executed on Sunday March 29, 2015. After only a few days, the target was subsequently hit within the established holding period to push the overall return for Subscribers to 53% from only 12 trades, generating 868 Pips along the way.

        Apart from the strong trading profit that Subscribers would have enjoyed on their Retail and Institutional Trading Accounts, the sharp Bullish Reversal in the market a day later would have provided them with additional reassurance about the accuracy of the Methodology. With Consolidation Breakouts, there is a greater tendency to hold out for a greater number of Pips than the market is offering given the larger Pip ranges of these breakouts. However, once the rules of the strategy are always followed, a consistent rate of growth will continue to be accrued on your portfolio in the months and years to come, with few market surprises.

        GENERAL MARKET PATTERN

        The over direction of the pair has been predominantly bearish since March of 2011. There have been brief periods of Consolidation that may have led to a reversal but the bears eventually take control and have provided significant gains for the Kiwi against its major trading partner’s currency. As with all trends that have lasted for several years, Long-Term, Outer and Inner Trend Lines tend to be formed.

        DAILY CHART - STRONG DOWNTREND & CONSOLIDATION BREAKOUT

        Given the strength of this downtrend and the start of the breakout from the Large Pennant, it was no surprise that the most recent Consolidation setup would be broken short. This would come in the form of an Evening Star Candlestick Formation as the market rallied and U-Turned after testing the Support boundary of the Range.

        Most of these profitable trades have been the result of accurate trade targets being set according to the setup presented. These exit points generally coincide with major price point areas that lead to strong pullbacks in the market over subsequent days. This recent trade was another example of the reversals that take place at these areas and the need to adhere to the guidelines for exit, regardless of the number of Pips.

        Within a few days, the market rallied sharply to close Tuesday’s US trading session with a strong Bullish Candlestick Formation (reaction to the Interest Rate decision and Statement by the Reserve Bank of Australia). This would have eroded most of that 200 Pips had we chosen to hold out for more.

        DAILY CHART - SHARP TREND REVERSAL SIGNAL

        30 MINUTE CHART

        The reversal seen on the Daily Chart is one of the signals given by the market to indicate the end of the Consolidation Breakout.

        There is nothing more frustrating than coming back to the charts to see a perfectly good trade taken out by these reversals, especially if it begins a few Pips ahead of our intended trade target. This is why the following exit points were identified and discovered to be the best way to maximize on these trades while staying away from these “surprises”;

        • Resistance/Support Boundaries;
        • The Breakout Equivalent;
        • The 200-Pip Maximum (where possible);
        • The Weekly Range;
        • The Monthly Range;

        The choice of targets ultimately depends on whether we are trading a Trending or Consolidating market and the size of the Consolidation Pattern in question. So long as these are chosen appropriately on each occasion, these market surprises will be the exception with large Pip gains such as these becoming the RULE in your trading.

        101 PIPS ON AUD NZD 80 OF TOP TRADERS NOW BEATEN - forex online trading system

        101 PIPS ON AUD NZD 80 OF TOP TRADERS NOW BEATEN ~ forex online trading system

        The latest trading opportunity on the Forex Market provided my clients with a 101-Pip gain on the AUD NZD this week. The pair was shorted as it started to turn at the Resistance of its Consolidation, heading to the Support boundary 250 Pips away. The trade was held for the pre-determined holding period and exited for the latest gain that has now provided clients with 286 Pips from only 6 trades. At a risk per trade of 5%, a trader or investor using my Methodology would now be enjoying a 12,6% return, beating 80% of the Top Currency Traders for 2014 as ranked by BarclayHedge.

        The pair had formed a Pennant above the Resistance of a larger Pennant following a short-lived breakout attempt in September.

        DAILY CHART- PENNANT SETUPS

        As it continued to move within this smaller Consolidation, a Bearish Signal was given at its Resistance to start a small downtrend back to Support.

        DAILY CHART - ENTRY SIGNAL
        FXCM Charts are used for Trading Signals based on the New York Close Daily Candle

        After careful analysis, it was determined that this setup satisfied the criteria for trading within Consolidations (Section 11- Consolidation Trading on the Forex Market). Entry then took place on the 4 Hour Chart with the target set for the Support area of the Pennant.

        4 HOUR CHART- TRADE SETUP

        As part of the trading service offered, my clients were provided with these graphs as well as the following Trade Sheet Setup for their trades.

        TRADE SHEET - AUD NZD TRADE

        At the end of the established Holding Period, the trade was exited for 101 Pips instead of the 140 that was originally targeted - money nonetheless and above our 100 Pip minimum threshold.

        DAILY CHART - TRADE RESULT
        Live Trades are executed on Dukascopy´s Platform

        As you can see from this graph, a smaller 69-Pip trade was made within the context of that short-lived breakout attempt. With this latest result, the Methodology would now have beaten 80% of the Top Currency Traders ranked by BarclayHedge as at September 30, 2014- with only 6 trades.

        YEAR-TO-DATE RETURNS FROM METHODOLOGY
        Trading Service started in July; 5% Risk per Trade; No Trading was done in August

        BARCLAYHEDGE RANKINGS - SEPTEMBER 30, 2014

        The latest result from my strategy means that this client/investor would need only a few months to realize a 100% rate of return - from only 9 more trades.

        100% RETURN PROJECTION
        Assumes 150 Pips per Trade based on 100-200 Pip Target Range & No Losses

        The main advantage of my approach is that one does not have to trade every day nor every week. Specific high probability opportunities are provided by the Currency Market each month on the larger time frames. Once these are identified and traded within the context of strong parameters, larger and more consistent gains are more likely with reduced exposure to market volatility.  With this strategy, one can not only realize large personal gains on your trading account, but you can also put yourself in a position to successfully manage the investments of those seeking stable, long-term capital accumulation.

        Trading within Consolidation is a very common trading strategy used to take advantage of low liquidity market conditions. As we move within these boundaries, strong short-term gains can be patiently but aggressively taken until breakouts - very rare nowadays- eventually take place. The challenge, however, will always be to determine which of these Consolidations are best suited for this strategy and those that should be avoided (Section 6 - Consolidation Trading on the Forex Market).

        Another important element of these trades is knowing where to place Stop Losses without the need for Trailing Stops. Although adjusting the Stop Loss is a common approach to avoiding losses from unexpected reversals, it can get in the way of the natural waves of the market as it makes its way to its main target. If a trade is up by 40 Pips but is closed when the market has pulled back to the new, smaller Stop Loss, one could forgo a lot of money if the market eventually moves by 60 Pips more in your direction.

        As you can see from the 4 Hour Chart below, using Trailing Stops would have easily eroded gains at the two pullback areas.

        4 HOUR CHART - TRAILING STOPS

        Section 9 explains where to put your Stop Losses to capture all of what the market has to offer and how to determine if the Stop Loss area is strong enough to protect your trade. This will give you the confidence to allow the market to accurately and successfully hit your trading targets until your major goal of Long-Term Wealth is also met.

        Get the most out of your trading.
